A success from proprietor Sylvie Cazes, the 2019 Chauvin delivers aromas of rich berries and plums mingled with hints of sweet spices and dark chocolate. Medium to full-bodied, lively and seamless, it's layered and nicely concentrated, with bright acids and powdery tannins. This will merit a bit of patience.

Extremely aromatic with chalk and dried flowers, as well as blackberries and blueberries. It’s medium-to full-bodied with a steady layer of medium, round and chewy tannins and a long, spicy finish of white pepper and dark fruit. Try after 2026.

The nose is elegant, racy, fruity and offers a beautiful definition, power and richness. It reveals notes of Boysen berry, wild cassis, small notes of cornflower associated with touches of lily, small crushed red berries as well as hints of sugared mild tobacco, toasted, vanilla and very discreet hints of vanilla/camphor. The palate is fruity, racy and offers freshness, juiciness, gourmandize as well as a beautiful precision, definition, a juicy/fresh fruit and a finely acidulous frame. On the palate this wine expresses notes of juicy/acidulous blackberry, raspberry, small notes of blueberry/small blue fruit associated with touches of lily, rose, small crushed red berries as well as hints of racy minerality, nutmeg, toasted, very discreet hints of tea and toasted almond. Good length.
