Gilbert & Gaillard
Brilliant golden hue. Predominant vegetal accents of tea, mint and angelica on the nose. The palate focuses on concentration and freshness with a full, aromatic mid-palate and a lingering spicy finish. Wonderful across the palate, all-set to become a compelling wine.
Wine Enthusiast
With its strong initial impression of dryness, this is obviously a structured wine. It is dense, rich and concentrated with fine tannins, spice and a strong orange-zest character. Refreshing acidity gives a lift to this ripe, full wine. Drink from 2019.
Robert Parker Wine Advocate
Tasted blind at the Sauternes 2011 horizontal tasting. The Château Clos Haut Peyraguey was the one slight disappointment. Like the superior Rabaud-Promis it sports a Germanic bouquet, hints of kerosene infusing the honeyed fruit, perhaps with time erring towards an Alsatian Vendange Tardive. The palate is medium-bodied with a viscous entry and finally returning to what you might call a typical Sauternes. It is certainly well balanced, even if the oak still needs a year or two two be fully subsumed. Yet there is a sense of conservatism, refusing to offer more complexity or depth on the finish that prefers to play it safe. Commercially savvy Sauternes? Most certainly, but not one that sets the pulse racing. I would like to revisit this with another couple of years in bottle.
Druvor

Tasting note
'The nose is fruity, racy and offers complexity as well as a beautiful freshness. It reveals notes of quince, crystallized lemon and a touch of candied mirabelle plum associated with a touch of marmalade, verbena, flowers, as well as discreet hints of nuts, exotic fruits, marzipan and spices. The palate is fruity, beautifully fresh, well-balanced and offers juiciness, a beautiful definition, a beautiful finesse, elegance, a slightly acidulous frame, gourmandise as well as tension. On the palate this wine expresses notes of candied lemon, quince and small notes of candied apple associated with fine touches of candied mirabelle plum, marzipan, apricot jam / honey as well as very discreet hints of nutmeg and spices. Good length and beautiful persistence.'
