VertdeVin
The nose is racy and offers minerality and a small fruitiness. This wine needs to be decanted. It reveals notes of blackcurrant, wild strawberry and small notes of very ripe small berries associated with fine touches of violet, cube pepper as well as discreet hints of mushroom, tobacco and an imperceptible hint of rose wood. The mouth is fruity, well-balanced and offers a beautiful definition, gourmandize as well as an acidulous frame, a fine concentration and a small tension. On the mouth this wine expresses notes of raspberry, very ripe blackcurrant and small notes of violet associated with touches of racy minerality, wild strawberry as well as fine hints of toasted/caramelization, tobacco and graphite. Tannins are elegant, fine and straight. A beautiful persistence.
Robert Parker Wine Advocate
A strong effort from this property situated between Pontet-Canet and Mouton Rothschild, d’Armailhac’s blend of 57% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot and the rest mostly Cabernet Franc and a touch of Petit Verdot was harvested between September 14-24. Its deep ruby color is accompanied by abundant aromas of black fruits, white chocolate, licorice and flowers. Medium-bodied, expressive, savory, pure and long with sweet tannins, it should drink well for 15+ years.
Druvor
62% cabernet sauvignon, 27% merlot, 9% cabernet franc & 2% petit verdot.
