Dark ruby red colour with a purple hue. Layered nose blending some toasted and spicy oak elements with ripe wild berries, cassis and fine tobacco. Nice palate combining dense young fruit, vivid and ripe tannin, well-integrated oak notes adding a slight butterscotch creaminess, and a dense and long finish. Fine potential.

The nose is flowery and offers intensity. It reveals notes of violet, blackberry, lilac associated with touches of cassis, wild strawberry as well as hints of liquorice, vanilla, toasted, fine hints of cuben pepper and an imperceptible saline hint. The palate is fruity and offers minerality, freshness as well as a certain suavity and an acidulous frame. On the palate this wine expresses notes of fresh/juicy raspberry, crunchy cherry and small notes of violet, rose associated with touches of racy minerality, lilac, cardamom, almond and a discreet hint of chocolate. Tannins are well-built.

Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2018 Fourcas-Dupre opens a little shy with subtle black raspberry, redcurrant jelly and cassis scents followed by suggestions of garrigue, bay leaves and tilled soil. Medium to full-bodied, it has a solid line of chewy tannins tagged with compelling freshness sparking energy into the bright fruit, finishing mineral laced.
