Andreas Larsson - Tasted
Inky bright purple core and hue. Pure nose is showing dark plum, cassis, liquorice and mild oak. Good grip and ripeness, savoury dark fruit flavours with sage, liquorice and tobacco, well-tuned oak, a fresh backbone, rounded tannin and a generous finish.
VertdeVin
The nose is aromatic and offers a certain complexity as well as concentration and finesse. There are notes of cherry, crushed redcurrant and, to a lesser extent, blackberry, combined with a touch of nutmeg, grey pepper and a subtle hint of cinnamon and spice. The palate is fruity and offers freshness, minerality, good definition, juiciness, precision, a nice acidity of the fruit and mellowness. On the palate this wine expresses notes of pulpy/juicy raspberry, juicy/acidic redcurrant and more slightly fleshy/juicy purple plum combined with a touch of blackcurrant as well as fine hints of tonka bean, nutmeg and a subtle touch of roasted almond. A fine powdery finish and a nice sapidity/suavity. The tannins are mellow.
Wine Enthusiast
This is a structured wine with fine tannins that will allow it to age. Black currant fruits and spice come together in a concentrated bond. The wine needs plenty of time, wait to drink until 2025.
Robert Parker Wine Advocate
The 2019 Fourcas-Dupré continues to show well, unwinding in the glass with aromas of cassis, sweet spices, loamy soil and violets. Medium to full-bodied, velvety and concentrated, with lively acids and a youthfully firm, typically Listrac finish, it will reward a little patience with real depth and plentitude.
