The 2023 La Lagune, a blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon and 35% Merlot, reveals bright aromas of dark wild berries, flowers, cassis and spices. Medium-bodied, supple and enveloping, with a perfectly balanced mid-palate, it’s elegant and charming with an ethereal, fruity finish. This is an excellent rendition of this terroir.

Deep purple-hued, the 2023 Château La Lagune has classic aromatics of red and black fruits, smoky tobacco, graphite, and crushed stone. Based on 65% Cabernet Sauvignon and 35% Merlot and aged 12 months in barrel, it's medium-bodied and balanced, with beautiful mid-palate depth and concentration as well as ripe, building tannins. One of my favorite Haut-Médoc châteaux, this beauty deserves 4-5 years of bottle age and will cruise over the following 30 years if well stored. Drink 2030-2056.

A linear and refined La Lagune with nutmeg, cedar, spice and berry aromas and hints of plums, bark and dried flowers. Medium-bodied with firm tannins and a lightly chewy finish. The tannins stay polished and precise. 65% cabernet sauvignon and 35% merlot. From organically grown grapes. Needs three or four years to soften and come together. Try after 2028.
