VertdeVin
The nose is aromatic, intense as well as relatively concentrated. It reveals notes of crushed blackberry, ripe / crushed wild strawberry and slight notes of cassis, mint, violet combined with slight touches of Cuben pepper, spices, toasted oak as well as a touch of subtle / discreet hint of liquorice and Bourbon vanilla. The mouth is fruity, juicy, elegant and offers a beautiful definition, depthness, gourmandise, a nice volume, a beautiful fat, a slight tension, a small acid frame (in the background) as well as a nice and slightly unctuous matter. On the palate this wine expresses notes of fleshy / juicy strawberry, fleshy / juicy raspberry and cherry ccombined with hints of cassis, a very discreet hint of plum and subtle hints of liquorice, cocoa and oak as well as a subtle hint of black tea (on the finish). Good length and good persistence (touches of liquorice… ).
Andreas Larsson - Tasted
Bright dark ruby colour with a purple hue. Floral and fragrant nose, nice purity some stoniness, dark berries, cassis, fine oak, and discreet butterscotch on the nose. The palate is still youthful but polished and pure with digest dark fruit, cassis and plum notes with intense but ripe tannin, and a long, dense and lingering finish. Pure, stylish and digest style.
Falstaff
Strong ruby with purple reflections, discreet ochre at the slightly brighter rim. Ripe cherry fruit underlaid by candied orange zest, delicate hints of blackberry, a touch of nougat: an inviting bouquet. Medium complexity, with red fruits of the forest, vivid tannins, a mineral finish and chalky freshness in the aftertaste.
Robert Parker Wine Advocate
Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, the 2015 Lagrange gives up fragrant notes of chocolate-covered cherries, cassis and blackberry pie with touches of violets, forest floor, truffles and cigar box. Medium-bodied with plenty of intense black fruit and firm, grainy tannins, it has a racy line and long, mineral-laced finish.
Jeb Dunnuck
The 2015 Château Lagrange is a heavenly little Saint-Julien that seriously delivers the goods. Based on 75% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Merlot and Petit Verdot brought up in around 50% new oak, its deep ruby/purple color is followed by notes of cassis, toasty oak, black licorice and nori (the dried seaweed wrapper used for sushi). With medium to full-bodied richness, beautiful concentration, and ripe tannin, it’s still tight and reserved on the palate and will benefit from 3-5 years of bottle age.
Druvor
70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Merlot & 6% Petit Verdot.
