VertdeVin
The nose is juicy. It reveals notes of undergrowth and spices associated with slight notes of blackberry, gray pepper as well as discreet hints of red fruits (strawberry, raspberry), hints of red pepper and woody hints. The palate is fruity, mineral, juicy and offers an acid frame, a good volume and fat. In the mouth this wine expresses notes of blackberry, black cherry and small red berries associated with discreet hints of cassis, zan as well as a hint of tobacco, black tea and slight notes of dark chocolate. Tannins are slight and well-built . Good length.

The 2014 Château Lamothe-Bergeron has a very earthy, undergrowth-scented bouquet that is quite Graves-like in style. I would have liked a little more vivacity and brightness here. The palate is much better with crisp tannin, fresh blackberry, cedar and tobacco notes with fine structure on the finish. I suspect that the aromatics will sort themselves out with a couple of years in bottle. Well-made, but needs time.
