Ripe dark fruity nose with layers of cassis, plum, coffee, smoke and well-concealed new oak. Dense and concentrated palate with plenty of fine tannin, crème de cassis, cocoa bean and a fresh underlying acidity, very muscular, dense and persistent finish. Already tempting yet with fine potential.

The nose is fruity, elegant and offers a very fine concentration. It reveals notes of blackberry, cassis and small notes of wild red berries associated with small touches of gray pepper, spices as well as discreet hints of zan . The palate is fruity, well-balanced and offers a good definition, a fine mineral frame, a very fine tension, a fine freshness as well as finesse. On the palate this wine expresses notes of fleshy blackberry, fleshy wild raspberry and liquorice associated with small touches of wild small berries, lowers, racy minerality , zan as well as fine hints of spices. Tannins are well – built and structured . Good lenght .

Intense garnet. Elegant yet profound nose combining fresh red fruits, menthol and coffee notes. The palate is ethereal and mouth-filling with a tight-knit, fine tannin backbone. This is a very classic, clean, persistent and vertical wine. Beautiful.

Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2016 Lascombes features beautiful candied violets, Black Forest cake, cassis and menthol with hints of underbrush, cloves, pencil lead and tar. Medium-bodied with good intensity and firm, grainy tannins, it finishes long and perfumed.

The 2016 Château Lascombes is another brilliant Margaux, and I was blown away by this wine on two separate occasions. Sporting a deep purple color as well as a thrilling bouquet of cassis, smoked earth, charcoal, and tobacco, it hits the palate with medium to full-bodied richness, has obvious minerality, a big palate presence, and a terrific sense of elegance and purity. It’s a beautiful wine, and while I’d happily enjoy bottles today, it’s going to keep for 25-30 years.
