Andreas Larsson - Tasted
Still youthful with pure sweet fruit, red and dark berries, the palate has a fair level of concentration, still a bit tight with a high acidity and present tannin although with a fine potential and promising length.
Wine Enthusiast
This is a round wine, with ripe tannins and a sweet-tasting blackberry flavor. It shows a definite sense of power, and the freshness of the year is also apparent. Big and chunky, this finishes with a crisp black-currant note.
Robert Parker Wine Advocate
Elegant, spicy, gamy notes jump from the glass of this medium dark ruby/purple-tinged effort. Pain grille, black currant, cherry and crushed rock characteristics along with prominent minerality are also found in this mid-weight, slightly tannic 2008. An excellent effort, it should drink well for 10-15 years.
Druvor
60 % Merlot, 35 % Cabernet Franc & 5% Cabernet Sauvignon
Tasting note
'The Lassègue 2008 shows a beautiful color. The nose displays a remarkable freshness immediately upon opening, and with aeration notes of nutmeg, white pepper, and red fruit emerge, harmonious and ethereal. The freshness returns on the palate with well-integrated tannins, and the spice gives an added complexity to this balanced wine. With an energetic and vibrant finish, the 2008 is elegant to drink today, with plenty of room to age for additional aromatic development.'
