James Suckling
A creamy, nicely textured red with blueberry, chocolate, walnut and coffee character. It’s medium-to full-bodied, savory and lightly chewy. A tight, well structured red. Try after 2024.
VertdeVin
The nose is fruity and very finely on the hold. It reveals notes of quenette, fleshy peach, small notes of crunchy pear associated with fine touches of exotic fruits and a very discreet lemon hint. The palate is fruity, well-balanced, franc and offers an acidulous frame, juiciness, suavity as well as straightness, a small fat, tension and fullness. On the palate this wine expresses notes of fleshy/juicy nectarine, crunchy pear, small notes of exotic fruits associated with small touches of lemon as well as hints of quenette, minerality and a very discreet hint of mandarine. Good length.
Wine Enthusiast
This richly endowed wine is full of white stone fruits cut with gooseberry flavors. Spice and toastiness from wood aging are discreetly in the background offering a crisp edge to the ripe fruitiness. Drink this wine from 2022.

A blend of 60% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Petit Verdot, the 2018 Lespault-Martillac has a deep garnet-purple color, rolling out of the glass with compelling notes of crushed blackberries, fresh blueberries and mulberries, plus wafts of underbrush, wilted roses and red earth. The medium to full-bodied palate has impressive energy, featuring firm, grainy tannins and bold freshness to support the muscular black fruits, finishing long and mineral laced. Nicely done!
