Falstaff
Dark ruby, opaque core, purple reflections, delicate edge brightening. Fine floral nuances, fresh heart cherry, red forest berries, very inviting bouquet. Complex, tightly meshed, fresh berry fruit, mineral, ripe tannins, good savouriness on the finish, a hint of nougat in the aftertaste.
VertdeVin
The nose is lovely, spicy, frank, racy, taut, and offers a fine spicy and graphene side. It benefits from being decanted. It reveals notes of blackberry and boysenberry, Garriguette strawberry and small notes of small fresh/ripe fruits, combined with touches

A blend of 65% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2023 Château Mangot displays a rare combination of immediate charm and underlying structure. It reveals aromas of mulberries, fresh licorice, rose petals, bay leaf and pencil shavings, subtly accented by coriander. Dense and deep, layered and structured, it is built around a lively core of fruit framed by powdery tannins, concluding with a long, saline and ethereal finish.

Based on 65% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon and aged in 25% new French oak (the balance in once-used barrels, amphora, and foudre), the 2023 Château Mangot offers ripe red and black fruits, leafy herbs, graphite, and spring flowers. Medium-bodied on the palate, it's nicely concentrated, balanced, and layered, with ample mid-palate depth and ripe tannins. I love its purity, and it will have two decades of longevity. Drink 2026-2046.
James Suckling
A solid red with aromas of dark berries and hints of roasted almonds, bark and dark earth, following through to a full body with juicy fruit and layers of tannins. A big wine for the vintage. From biodynamically grown grapes. A blend of 65% merlot, 30% cabernet sauvignon and 5% cabernet sauvignon. Drink or hold.
