Robert Parker Wine Advocate
The 2018 Blanc is composed of 67% Sauvignon Blanc and 33% Sémillon and was matured in 7% new barriques (13.88% alcohol). It opens very slowly, with a lot of coaxing, to reveal fragrant scents of lime blossoms, yellow apples and fresh grapefruit plus hints of crushed rocks, straw and sea spray. The medium-bodied palate has a beautiful satiny texture and fantastically intense citrus and apple layers with loads of mineral and herbal sparks on the long finish. Give it a good couple of years in bottle to open up, and drink it over the following 10 to 12 years or more.
James Suckling
Green papaya, pomelo, cream, flint and hints of wax on the nose. It’s full-bodied with bright acidity and a creamy texture. Concentrated and refined with seamless layers, leading to a long, mineral finish. The phenols with fruit and acidity are a formidable combination. Keeps going. Try from 2022.
VertdeVin
The nose is elegant, fresh, racy and offers a beautiful definition, a certain finesse of the grain and a certain complexity. It reveals notes of pulpy/juicy green apple, juicy nectarineand small notes of lemon flowers associated with small touches of fresh grapefruit. The palate is fruity, fresh, elegant, well-balanced and offers a beautiful definition, a beautiful acidulous frame, a very beautiful aromatic, suavity as well as tension, a small fat, dynamism, a beautiful balance, a fine aerial side (in the approach) and a beautiful finesse of the grain. On the palate this wine expresses notes of pulpy/juicy lemon, fleshy/juicy pear and small notes of fleshy/acidulous green apple associated with touches of grapefruit, zests as well as hints of juicy white grape, lychee, fine hints of exotic fruits, peach peach, a racy minerality and an imperceptible hint of fresh hazelnut. Good length. A beautiful persistence.
Wine Enthusiast
This complex, wood-aged wine has a deceptively approachable texture. Initially all about white fruits, it underneath offers richness, toast, spice and layers of minerality. The wine is set to age well. Drink from 2023.

Tasting note
'A sublime vintage with notes of floral blossoms, exotic fruit and fresh almond, Cos d’Estournel Blanc 2018 also has a lovely mineral quality. This year the estate’s Sémillon has surpassed itself, and proves a wonderful counterpart to an equally magnificent Sauvignon Blanc, resulting in a wine with exceptional complexity.'
