Jeff Leve, The Wine Cellar Insider
Medium-bodied, floral, fruity, and forward, the chocolate accents with a touch of refreshing citrus in the finish is quite nice. You can enjoy this on release and over the next decade with ease. Drink from 2025-2035.

A slightly reduced bouquet of cassis, mulberries and tobacco leaves prefaces the 2022 Village, a medium to full-bodied, supple and sappy wine with a fleshy core of fruit, structured, gently stringy tannins (typical of extraction from the stems) and a long, saline and spicy finish. Entirely crafted from Merlot and fermented with 40% whole bunches, this is an expertly crafted wine by Simon Blanchard, a Derenoncourt Consultants associate.

The 2022 Domaine Simon Blanchard Village checks in as 100% Merlot that’s from a mix of sandy, gravelly soils, aged in one-third new barrels. It has a beautifully pure, perfumed nose of lively red and blue fruits intermixed with spring flowers, rose petals, and peppery herbs. It's balanced, medium-bodied, has a juicy, lively mouthfeel, and outstanding length.
James Suckling
Really lively and bright with lots of red flowers, red plums, white pepper and red berries. Very juicy and vibrant, this has high acidity and fresh tannins. Lovely tension and length. 100% merlot from a sandy plot. 40% whole-bunch fermentation. Appealing now. Drink or hold.
Druvor
85% Merlot, 15% Cabernet France
