Anthocyanes - Yohan Castaing

Wine Maniacs

Fruit-driven with some spicy oak notes. Although it lacks depth and complexity its smooth and easy-going. Overall quite generous, if a touch thin at the end. Tannins are densely packed, finishing with a thin layer of tannic grip, which will smooth out and integrate over the time.

Robert Parker Wine Advocate

The 2020 Les Pagodes de Cos is composed of 58% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc and 4% Petit Verdot. The harvest took place September 10–24 with a yield of 39 hectoliters per hectare. The alcohol weighs in at 13.28% with a pH of 3.85 and an IPT (total phenolic index) of 68. It is being aged in French oak barrels, 30% new. Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, it sashays out of the glass with pretty, open-knit scents of stewed black plums, boysenberries and warm cassis, plus savory hints of charcuterie, woodsmoke, black truffles and bouquet garni. Medium-bodied, the palate is packed with crunchy black fruit flavors and dried herbs accents, supported by bags of freshness and well-managed, grainy tannins, finishing with great length and a lively skip in its step.

Druvor

50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 46.5% Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot & 0.5% Cabernet Franc.

Tasting note

'The nose is fruity, aromatic, racy and offers power, a fine richness (beautifully controled), power (in control), aromatic purity as well as gourmandize. It reveals notes of fleshy blackberry, fleshy strawberry, small notes of small red fruits/fleshy/juicy red berries associated with touches of juicy/pulpy violet plum, racy minerality/sense of the place as well as hints of zan, cloves, exotic spices and very discreet hints of cuben pepper. The palate is fruity, well-balanced, harmonious and offers a juicy/acidulous frame, a beautiful definition, gourmandize, a beautiful fruit (pulpy/juicy and acidulous), a beautiful finesse of the grain, a beautiful construction, a beautiful delicate touch, a beautiful finesse of the suavity as well as a beautiful finesse of the guideline. On the palate this wine expresses notes of ripe/juicy cassis, juicy/ripe small red berries, small notes of juicy/ripe blackberry associated with touches of crunchy gariguette strawberry, fleshy/juicy violet plum as well as hints of zan, chocolate, toasted almond and a discreet hint of clove (in the background). Tannins are elegant and well-built. There is a saline/iodine hint of the finish. Sapidity and suavité on the finish/persistence. A persistence on hints of cocoa, almond and vanilla pods. A beautiful, harmonious wine!'

Sammanlagt stod fem ägare i spetsen...
