VertdeVin
The nose is fruity and offers a racy minerality, a fine freshness as well as a fine intensity. It reveals notes of lemon, mandarine, small notes of kumquat associated with small touches of lychee and small white fruits. The palate is fruity, well-balanced and offers an acidulous frame, juiciness, suavity as well as a small fat, a good definition, gourmandize, a fine grain and a good structure. On the palate this wine expresses notes of quenette, fleshy/pulpy nectarine, small notes of lychee associated with touches of citron (mandarine, lemon) as well as hints of crushed white fruits, a subtle hint of passion fruit, salinity, a very fine hint of mandarine flowers and an imperceptible hint of toasted/hazelnut (in the background). Good length. A good sapidity and gourmandize on the finish. A beautiful persistence.
Wine Enthusiast
The second wine of Domaine de Chevalier, this shows all the richness of the vintage, with weighty tannins and a generous future. Blackberry fruits and a core that promises plenty of potential as the dryness softens contribute to what will be a richly structured, complex wine. Drink from 2026.
James Suckling
Fantastic second wine of Domaine de Chevalier. This is an extremely polished and refined young wine with gorgeous blackberry, blackcurrant, licorice, dark-chocolate and bark character. It’s full-bodied with ever so fine tannins and a long, long finish. Fantastic second wine of Domaine de Chevalier. Try after 2026.
