Falstaff
Deep dark ruby garnet, opaque core, violet reflections, delicate edge brightening. Delicately floral black cherry fruit, fine nougat, a hint of blackberries, attractive bouquet. Complex, powerful, fine extract sweetness, integrated tannins, full-bodied and persistent, a juicy food companion, good ageing potential.
Robert Parker Wine Advocate
From a later-ripening site in Saint-Étienne-de-Lisse, the 2022 Saintayme was picked between September 17 and October 3. Offering up a rich aromatic palette featuring aromas of rich cherries, berries, licorice and toasty oak, it's medium to full-bodied, broad and concentrated, with youthfully firm, chalky tannins that assert themselves on the finish.
Jeb Dunnuck
Based on 100% Merlot that was raised in 30% new barrels, the 2022 Saintayme is juicy and upfront, with bright red and black fruits intermixed with hints of tobacco, crushed stone, and graphite. It's nicely balanced, medium to full-bodied, upfront, and absolutely delicious. I love it today, yet it’s going to deliver the goods over the coming decade. Readers could do much worse than a case of this in the cellar.
