A beautiful elegant nose, spicy and offers power, freshness as well as a beautiful finesse in its complexity. It reveals notes of quince, baked apple and slightly pineapple associated with touches of bright small yellow fruits, delicate hints of yellow flowers, acacia flowers, honey as well as a discreet hint of pâtisseries, saffron and a subtle hint of almost crystallized orange in the background. The palate is beautifully delicate, gourmand, airy, well-balanced, all in precision, all in measure, harmonious and offers a very beautiful spherical side (in the background), delicacy, silkiness, a beautiful freshness as well as fat. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of quince, candied pear and small notes of pineapple in syrup associated with touches of flowers, acacia, small yellow fruits, candied orange peel as well as hints of pâtisseries, candied kumquat / in syrup as well as a very discreet hint of brown butter, dried almond, saffron and beautiful spices. A very discreet hint of good bitterness on the finish (stretches the finish). A very discreet almost tannic aspect on the finish / persistence.

One sniff is all it takes before you're immersed in its web of overripe apricots, pineapple, exotic spices, flowers, white peach, roasted nuts, and honey. But, of course, the real excitement here is on the palate, with its wall of perfectly ripe, sweet, very sweet, and incredibly sweet, tropical fruits, mango, pineapple, vanilla, and lemon creme all coated with honey. Even with all this unctuosity, with all of its racy acidity, the wine is as vibrant as it is sweet. With all of its layers of sweetness, it is never tiring to taste, instead, it is an upbeat, thrill ride that can age for at least 50 or more years. Drink from 2023-2080.

Crazy minerality to this, with lots of dried mango, pineapple and papaya on the nose. Botrytis-spice and nutmeg undertones. Full body, very sweet, with superb depth of fruit and richness. It goes on for minutes. Turns dense and concentratedThe Château Yquem 2011 has a complex bouquet, one that is very well defined with hints of petrol infusing the rich honeyed fruit, later melted wax and fresh peach coming through. The palate is well balanced with a strong viscous entry. There is plenty of residual sugar here and I would have preferred a little more acidic bite to offset that rich, decadent finish (this is despite their correct policy of blending non-botrytized berries in order to increase acidity.) Powerful, burly even, I would give this several years in the cellar to allow this Yquem to mellow and enter its stride. on the palate. Speechless. Better in 2019.
