Robert Parker Wine Advocate
The 2011 Rayne-Vigneau delivers expressive notes of fungi, damp earth and truffles over a core of sultanas, allspice, apricot preserves and dried pineapple. Very ripe, rich and opulent in the mouth, the decadent fruit is nicely off-set by a compelling backbone of freshness and plenty of earthy layers, finishing with a lingering musk perfume.
Wine Enthusiast
Sumptuous, ripe and very full on the palate, this wine is dense and packed with notes of botrytis that give a strong sense of structure. This well-balanced wine shows potential to age, offering rich acacia honey and beautiful final acidity. Drink from 2020.
Gilbert & Gaillard
Quite deep golden hue. Alluring fresh nose of apricot, quince and mango enriched with vegetal notes (mint, green tea...). Remarkably precise palate showing fullness, freshness, concentration and harmony. A superlative wine for the vintage.
VertdeVin
The nose is fine, subtle and elegant. It reveals notes of candied fruit, dry apricot and slight notes of honey and spices. The palate is harmonious, bright, rich but well-balanced … finally a wine made in an “aerial” style. In the mouth it expresses notes of quince, candied white fruits and slight notes of lychee, honey and tarte tatin. There is a little tension on the finish.
Druvor
74% Sémillon, 24% Sauvignon Blanc & 2% Muscadelle
