Robert Parker Wine Advocate
From a 12-hectare estate sandwiched in between Pontet Canet, Pédesclaux and Lafite, the 2019 Fonbadet offers up aromas of cassis, plums, cocoa nib and cigar wrapper. Medium to full-bodied, lively and creditably concentrated, it's built around powdery tannins that assert themselves on the youthfully chewy finish.
James Suckling
Aromas of blackcurrant, walnut and dark tobacco follow through to a medium body with well-integrated tannins to pull the whole thing together. Flavorful and complex finish. 60% cabernet sauvignon, 20% merlot, 15% cabernet franc and 5% petit verdot and malbec. A year or two will make it so much better, but I like it now. Try after 2024.
VertdeVin
The nose is elegant, racy, aromatic and offers a small intensity/power, a fine grain and elegance. It reveals notes of bright Boysen berry, crushed strawberry, small notes of blackberry associated with touches of cornflower, liquorice, toasted, camphor, chocolate as well as hints of bourbon vanilla and hazelnut. The palate is elegant, gourmand, suave and offers a beautiful definition, a racy minerality, a fine unctuosity and delicacy. On the palate this wine expresses notes of fresh/bright blackberry, fresh/bright raspberry, small notes of blueberry associated with fine touches of fresh/pulpy cherry, violet/lily as well as hints of chocolate, caramelization, toasted, camphor, vanilla and toasted almond. Good length and persistence. A very fine chew and sapidity on the persistence.
Andreas Larsson - Tasted
Inky dark purple core and rim. Pure and floral with violet, crème de cassis, dark cherry, sage and mint notes. Dense palate with nice purity of fruit, very finely grained texture with refined tannin, savoury dark berries with a gentle herbal spiciness fine oak integration and a long supple finish.
Druvor
60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc, 5% Petit Verdot & Malbec.
