Wine Enthusiast
Dark and structured, this is a firm wine. It has a smoky wood character, powerful tannins over intensely ripe fruit. Acidity and sweetness balance to give a dense wine, powered with richness and destined to age for many years.
Andreas Larsson - Tasted
Perfumed and floral with fresh raspberry, fine spices and aromatic herbs, soft and supple texture with generous fruit, freshly crushed berries, fine spices and good persistence, elegant and very pleasingly drinkable, great finesse.
Falstaff
Dark ruby red with purple hues, subtle brightening on the rim. Nuances of orange zest, ripe plums, sweet blackberry confit. Juicy, sweet and round, ripe tannins, a lovely acidity, fine nougat on the finish, a subtle minerality, already well developed, a multi-faceted food companion, at maturity and drinking well.
Jeff Leve, The Wine Cellar Insider
Currants, cedar, tobacco leaves, smoke, flowers, and spice aromatics open up the wine. On the palate. the wine is fresh, vibrant, silky, and displays a nice spicy touch to the ripe plums and currants that sticks all the way through to the finish. This is a pleasure to taste now, and will only get better with a few more years of age. Drink from 2022-2040.
Robert Parker Wine Advocate
The 2009 Giscours has a medium to deep garnet color and delivers evolved prunes, baked blackberries and fruitcake scents with an earthy, dried herbs and potpourri undercurrent plus a waft of sweaty leather. The medium to full-bodied palate has a rugged frame of chewy tannins and a firm grip on the somewhat rustic finish.
Druvor
50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 50% Merlot
