Tom Cannavan
Nice and cedary, slightly charcoally quality, with flattering oak over plush red fruits. He palate has excellent fruit sweetness, with hints of chocolate and very ripe black plums, and firm but silky tannins giving plenty of grip. Good length and balance here, and a nice level of concentration.
Wine Enthusiast
This is already developing fast, its balance right in place. While that does not suggest much aging potential, the dry tannins, sweet fruit and smoky wood give it richness and concentration. To drink in five years.

Tasted at Bordeaux Index's annual 10-Year On tasting in London. The 2006 Château Lascombes has an open and generous bouquet: red berry fruit, cured Italian meat, quite savoury compared to its peers. The palate is medium-bodied with ripe red cherry and blueberry fruit, quite sweet in the mouth with a gentle, quite sensual finish. It is not a complex Margaux, although there is an appealing plushness to the texture and it has upheld better freshness on the finish than I initially thought. That said, a bottle subsequently tasted blind was below par and was besmirched with a tinny veneer.

Vinframställning och lagring
Manuellt skördade druvorna sorteras och avskalas sedan. Lätt krossning inträffar under vatting. Förjäsning varar 10 dagar vid 8°C. Alkoholjäsning följs av klassisk vinifiering, med daglig, lätt pumpning för att främja extraktion. Efter malolaktisk jäsning på fat, varar lagring i 4 månader på jästfällning (60% nya fat).
