Robert Parker Wine Advocate
Aromas of sweet blackberries, espresso roast, petals and toasty oak introduce the 2022 Malescot St. Exupery, a medium to full-bodied, rich but lively wine with a ripe core of jammy fruit, supple tannins and a slightly evolved finish. This appears to have lost a touch of precision during élevage.

Spicy red and black currants, leafy tobacco, spicy wood, loamy earth, and some sappy floral notes emerge from the 2022 Château Malescot Saint Exupéry, an incredibly complex, pure, elegant 2022 that has polished tannins, flawless balance, and a great finish. Based on 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, and 5% Petit Verdot, drink this incredibly impressive, satisfying Margaux over the coming two decades.
Decanter Magazine
Intensely perfumed and fragrant on the nose, supple and succulent, really quite juicy and highly acidic with both a dark blackcurrant and red cherry juiciness, tannins are nicely present, filling but with a great texture and this has a nice overall brightness and vibrancy that some don't have. I really like this, feels elegant and nicely detailed, soft, really not trying too hard. Will be for easier drinking than some but nice. A yield of 30hl/ha. Harvest 19 September - 5 October. Ageing in French oak for 12- 14 months, 70% new.
James Suckling
Plenty of blackcurrant and blueberry character here with cedar and sandalwood undertones that give such interest. Medium- to full-bodied, this has integrated tannins and a long and linear finish. Racy at the end. Classy. Give this three or four years to slightly soften, but it’s already a joy to taste. Drink after 2029.
Falstaff
Deep dark ruby in colour with an opaque core, purple reflections, and subtle brightening on the rim. On the nose, fine nuances of crystallised violets, invitingly fruity with black cherry, hints of cassis and liquorice and hints of nougat. The palate is juicy and complex, with silky tannins, fresh acidity, mineral and persistent with refreshing berry fruit and a fine core sweetness. Harmonious and fine with an immensely attractive finish, the wine has great potential for ageing.
Raffaele Vecchione - WinesCritic.com
Full, direct and engaging, it displays a decidedly captivating sensory profile. Notes of black cherries, black plums and wild myrtle blend with intriguing medicinal nuances. Full body, perfectly extracted tannins, surprising amount of matter and an engaging finish. Better from 2028.
The Wine Palate
Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2022 Malescot St. Exupery comes barreling out of the glass with bold notions of black raspberries, blackcurrant jelly, and fresh, juicy plums, followed by wafts of violets, cinnamon stick, and forest floor. The medium to full-bodied palate is densely laden with black and red berry layers, framed by firm, fine-grained tannins and oodles of freshness, finishing long and perfumed. This is very pretty!
