Robert Parker Wine Advocate
Aromas of sweet red berries, pencil shavings and loamy soil introduce the 2021 Olivier, a medium-bodied, lively and nicely balanced wine that's elegant and well-made, in a middleweight style.
Jeb Dunnuck
A blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, and the rest Petit Verdot, the 2021 Château Olivier has rock-solid black fruits as well as some scorched earth, tobacco, and lead pencil-driven aromas and flavors. Nicely balanced and medium-bodied, with good mid-palate depth and length, it's an outstanding wine that will benefit from just a few years of bottle age and drink beautifully over the following decade.
James Suckling
This shows the finesse and freshness of the year and some complexity, too. Ashy graphite, gravel, fresh currants and red cherries with a nice touch of white pepper. Tannins are firm but creamy with a linear, medium-bodied palate and a juicy, streamlined finish. Good length and layers. Drink now through to 2030.
