Robert Parker Wine Advocate
Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, the 2015 Pichon-Longueville Baron is enticingly scented of chocolate-covered cherries, crushed red currants and mulberries with touches of baking spices, potpourri and bay leaves plus a hint of fallen leaves. Sumptuously elegant, refreshing and medium-bodied with gorgeous, expressive, perfumed red fruits and very fine, very firm tannins, it has a persistent, perfumed finish. Its remarkable intensity, freshness and very firm frame suggest a long-lived Pichon Baron, which should cellar gracefully for 30+ years.
James Suckling
Blackberries, sweet tobacco, incense and currants. Aromatic. Medium to full body and firm, sleek tannins. Racy and refined. Shows lovely balance and finesse. Pretty now, but needs another three or four years of bottle age. Try from 2023.

The nose is fruity, concentrated, gourmand, racy (terroir / gravels) associated with a slight richness. It reveals notes of blackberry cream, wild strawberry and slight notes of cassis combined with touches of wild raspberry, liquorice as well as slight touches of minerality (almost saline) and a hint of vanilla / cardamom. The palate is fruity, well balanced, silky and offers a beautiful mineral frame, acidity, finesse, a small aerial side, suavity, a beautiful grain, freshness, a slight concentration / richness (but with finesse) as well as a slight straightness and tension. On the palate this wine expresses notes of ripe wild strawberry, fleshy cassis and touches of wild raspberry, small wild fruits, plum associated with subtle hints of sweet spices, wood, slight hints of salinity as well as a very discreet hint of cocoa and oak on the finish. Tannins are fine, chewy and perfectly built. Appetence / gourmandise on the finish. (2022+)

(2021) Lovely nose, suffused with cassis and ripe black cherry, there's a mocha depth to this too, a little hint of cedary pencil-shaving, a hint of earthiness, but really quite bold fruit. In the mouth classy and classic Bordeaux character, the black fruit very nicely ripe and creamy, but there is structure, a certain firmness to the tannins and suppleness to the acidity, grippy but the sweet fruit dominating the mid-palate. Very complete, very harmonious.
Druvor
77% Cabernet Sauvignon & 23% Merlot.
