Jeff Leve, The Wine Cellar Insider
Medium-bodied, firm, structured and bordering on austere, the wine is better on the earthy, tobacco, cedar, smoke, cherry and forest infused nose than on the crisp, bright, classic palate. The wine is firm and fresh, with an herbal, leafy leaning to the fruit. Those with a love for truly classic Bordeaux will be more fond of this wine than I am.

The 1994 Rauzan-Ségla is a blend of 69% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot and 3% Cabernet Franc. Medium-bodied, the palate has all but completely faded with notes of old leather, dried figs and spice box. Light to medium-bodied, the palate is thin, dried-up and skeletal with hard, chewy tannins and a tart finish. There may be some better bottles out there, but since this came straight from the chateau, I'd say it is past-it.

As with the 1997, there’s a solid slathering of green in the 1994 Rauzan-Ségla, which is medium-bodied, and lightly textured, with bright acidity and a short finish. If you’re tolerant of green pepper, you’ll find much more to enjoy here than I do. Regardless, this isn’t getting any better.
Druvor
60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Merlot, och resten Petit Verdot & Cabernet Franc.
