The nose is fine, elegant and a bit more discreet than the 2006 vintage. It reveals notes of citrus and pineapple. The palate is fresh, rich, opulent but well balanced and offers nice tension In the mouth it expresses notes of candied fruit, apricot, pineapple, tropical fruit, mango and slight notes of honey and spices. Good length.
Jeff Leve, The Wine Cellar Insider
Still quite young, decanted 4 hours in advance, this is still young, fresh and lively. Loads of pineapple, apricot, vanilla and honey in the perfume. The wine is unctuous in texture and long in the finish.

Tasted several times, most recently in 2014 (and scored 96) this is probably my favourite of the more recent Suduiraut vintages along with 2001, 2009 and 2010. The colour is a gorgeous burnished gold, and the nose a wonderously deep, smoke, Seville orange and barley sugar confection, notes of fig jam and walnut adding to the warmth of the appeal. On the palate so thick and luscious, the 165g/l of residual sugar meaning it is sweetly mouth-filling, glycerine and honey-rich, with such wonderfully poised acidity giving perfect balance. Just brilliant Sauternes this, undoubtedly with the capacity to cellar further, but utterly delicious now.

What a wine for the vintage, with spices and furniture wax undertones, then dried citrus fruit. Great intensity in this, powerful stuff. Perhaps the best 2005.
Robert Parker Wine Advocate
Tasted blind at the 10-Year On Tasting in Sauternes. The 2005 Château Suduiraut seemed a little out of sorts at first, although it comes together with honey, barley sugar, orange blossom and mineral scents that become more delineated as its aerates. The palate is very intense on the entry. There is a beautiful line of acidity that cuts through the viscous fruit, though the finish does not quite exude the precision of a top vintage, but still delivers that sense of class one expects from this address.
