The 2022 Clos Du Marquis is rich, concentrated, and serious, with cassis, graphite, spring flowers, and chalky minerality developing with time in the glass. Full-bodied and incredibly pure on the palate, it has bright acidity, building tannins, and a great finish. This structured yet elegant Saint-Julien should evolve well for at least 2-3 decades if well stored.

The 2022 Clos du Marquis is lovely, unwinding in the glass with notes of inky berries and cherries mingled with attractive floral nuances of rose petals and violets. Medium to full-bodied, velvety and suave, it's layered and concentrated, with a dense and lively core of fruit, beautiful purity and a long, penetrating finish.
Jeff Leve, The Wine Cellar Insider
Loaded with blackberries, and creme de cassis, the wine offers its layers of mouth-coating dark fruits, ripe, firm, soft tannins, and long, intense, mid-palate with no effort. Classified Growth in quality, the wine finishes with cool spearmint, lush, dark red berries, richness and length. The wine was made from a blend of 45.5% Merlot, 44.5% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 10% Cabernet Franc. 14.25% ABV. Drink from 2026-2042.
James Suckling
A scented, fresh and polished Clos du Marquis that shows tension. Medium- to full-bodied, this has blueberries and red berries with attractive minerality. A hint of pencil shavings as well. The tannins are fresh and really chalky and dissolved. 45.5% merlot, 44.5% cabernet sauvignon and 10% cabernet franc. Superb balance makes it pure, almost a bit ethereal and already inviting, but this should be approached after 2028.
The Wine Palate
Deep garnet-purple colored, it rolls out with ready-to-go notes of baked blackberries, warm cassis, and licorice, opening out to hints of rose bud tea and dark chocolate. The medium to full-bodied palate is taut with expressive black fruit and firm, grainy tannins, offset by great tension, finishing long and perfumed.
