Jeff Leve, The Wine Cellar Insider
Flowers, tobacco, spearmint, and spice ride along with all the fresh black raspberries in the nose. On the palate, the wine is supple, creamy, and vibrant, with a lot of freshness in the red fruit finish. There is lift to the sweet, ripe, round berries on the mid-palate, and in the finish. The wine blends 75% Merlot, with 25% Cabernet Franc. This is the one of the vintages of Clos de l'Oratoire I've tasted yet. Drink from 2027-2042.

A blend of 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc, the 2023 Clos de l'Oratoire reveals aromas of dark berries, spices, fresh licorice and creamy, toasty new oak. Medium- to full-bodied, it is rich and concentrated, firm and structured, with good depth at the core, concluding with a long, lead-pencil-inflected finish.

A blend of 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc raised in 30% new French oak, the 2023 Clos De L'Oratoire offers up red and black fruits, spice, dried flowers, and hints of truffly earth. It's medium-bodied, has a pure, balanced mouthfeel, ripe and polished tannins, and outstanding length. Drink bottles over the coming 20 years or so. Drink 2026-2045.

Blueberries and crushed stones alongside lead pencil and milk chocolate. Some clove and white-pepper highlights as well. Medium-bodied with cocoa and berry flavors, velvety medium tannins and a spicy finish. Bright and plush but not heavy. A blend of 75% merlot and 25% cabernet franc. Drink after 2028.
