Andreas Larsson - Tasted
Medium deep golden colour. Pure and intense nose offering layers of ripe stone fruit with sweet apricot, saffron hazelnut, sweet citrus and fine oak. The palate is unctuous and dense with layers of sweet yellow fruit paired with a mild spiciness and modest oak, a well-preserved freshness and nice flavour intensity. Long and lingering finish. Youthful but already delicious.
VertdeVin
The nose is fruity, aromatic, elegant, gourmand and well-balanced. It reveals notes of candied lemon, quince and apricot with hints of honey, almonds, peach compote associated with a subtle hint of candied mango and a very discreet hint of botrytis. The palate is fruity, very well balanced and offers a fine juiciness, a freshness, an acid frame, gourmandise, a nice fat, a nice unctuosity, dynamism and a good volume. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of candied apricot, candied pineapple and a touch of mango combined with touches of preserved lemon, peach and honey, as well as a fine hint of caramelisation, vanilla and a discrete hint of white flowers. There are a hint of hazelnut, almond and a very discreet toasted hint on the persistence.
Jeff Leve, The Wine Cellar Insider
Forward, fresh, and showing off its spicy, tropical fruit, apricot, orange and honey infused character with ease.
Wine Enthusiast
Dominated by Sémillon, this rich, luscious wine has layers of ripe fruit and intense concentration. Wood aging has sustained the richness of the wine and not overshadowed the ripe honey, candied peel and hints of almonds. The wine will age for many years. Drink from 2025.
Robert Parker Wine Advocate
The pale lemon colored 2016 Clos Haut-Peyraguey reveals a veritable cornucopia of tropical notes—guava, mango and pineapple—with nuances of spiced pears, jasmine, fallen leaves and allspice plus a touch of acacia honey. The palate is elegantly styled with all those intense scents marrying beautifully into a perfumed restraint, finishing with a lively citrus lift.
