VertdeVin
The nose is elegant, aromatic, fruity, racy and offers a fine richness, a beautiful finesse of the grain, a fine power and complexity. It reveals notes of fleshy blackberry, fleshy strawberry and small notes of liquorice associated with small touches of cassis, chocolate as well as discreet hints of vanilla Bourbon, spices and an imperceptible touch of pepper. The palate is fruity, mineral, well-balanced and offers a good mineral frame, tension, a beautiful aromatic precision, a fine creaminess, gourmandise , a beautiful finesse of the grain, a fine juiciness, a beautiful structure, a small freshness, suavity as well a chew. On the palate this wine expresses notes of fleshy blackberry, fleshy cassis and small notes of crushed raspberry associated with small touches of fleshy Gariguette strawberry, hints of chocolate, toasted hints, sticks of liquorice as well as a discreet hint of Bourbon vanilla and tea. Tannins are elegant. Good length. There is a very discreet hint of hazelnut / almond on the finish. There is a very discreet hint of tonka bean on the persistence.
Wine Enthusiast
This rich wine comes from one of the most southerly estates in Margaux. Although structure is certainly there, it is cushioned by rich black fruits. Juicy acidity at the end offers a fresher view of this ageworthy wine. Drink from 2025.

Medium-bodied, fresh, bright, crisp, vibrant, cassis, violets and earthy nuances combine for a classic take on Margaux.

The 2016 Dauzac is a blend of 71% Cabernet Sauvignon and 29% Merlot picked at 45 hectoliters per hectare, picked 13 September and over the next 21 days, which is the longest ever at the property according to estate manager Laurent Fortin. The bouquet is tightly wound at first, then gently unfolds to reveal blackberry, briary, pressed flowers and light minty aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp tannin on the entry, quite firm in the mouth at first, but there is plenty of fresh, predominantly black fruit locked into this Margaux. It is taut and linear with a grippy finish. This is a strong follow-up to the 2015, perhaps without the same flair as the previous vintage, but I am certain that it will
