The nose is a little more discreet than the vintage 2012 . It reveals notes of blackberry associated with subtle fig and spice. The palate is fresh, fat, gourmand and beautifully precise. In the mouth it expresses notes of cherry, black fruit and raspberry combined with a few notes of spices, flowers and a hint of chocolate in the background. The tannins are elegant, well-conducted and chewy.
Jeff Leve, The Wine Cellar Insider
Medium-bodied, glossy, fresh, soft, dark red fruits feel just fine on your palate. Soft, light in weight and not overly long, still, the tannins feel good and the wine has a nice, earthy, fruity nature that can be enjoyed now and over the next 10-15 years.

Deep garnet colored, the 2011 Ducru-Beaucaillou features fragrant notes of underbrush, tilled soil, tree bark and fungi over a core of red currant jelly, preserved plums, cassis and mulberries. Medium-bodied, elegant, refreshing and with a sturdy, grainy texture, it offers just enough black fruit and earthy layers in the mouth and a savory finish.

From a vintage that's drinking nicely today, the 2011 Château Ducru-Beaucaillou has a medium-bodied, foursquare, concentrated, and incredibly satisfying style as well as textured aromatics and flavors. It's balanced, has ripe tannins, outstanding length, and another 20-30 years of overall longevity. I think it's a small step back from the 2012, but these are both charming, enjoyable vintages that already offer pleasure.
Druvor
80% cabernet sauvignon & 20% merlot.
