James Suckling [vintage 2024]
Very elegant and subtle nose with freshly cut pears and nectarines, as well as a minerally undertone. Bright, with high acidity, crisp fruit and a medium-length, mouthwatering finish. Thirst-quenching. 100% cabernet sauvignon harvested early and pressed directly into the vats for fermentation. Fresh and lively. Drink now.
Druvor
Cabernet Sauvignon
Tasting note
-
Rosé x Giscours, the latest addition to our range, is much more than just a rosé – it is a new signature wine. It is a symbol of our terroir and our desire to modernise production of our fine wines, a light-coloured rosé that astonishes with its huge finesse.
Giscours has always been able reinvent itself, modernise and innovate in how it shapes its fine wines. In 2019, we wanted to create a light-coloured rosé that was born of delicate work and particular care and attention.
The estate
Located on Bordeaux’s Left Bank, Château Giscours is a historic estate in the Margaux appellation, with vines first planted in the 16th century. This magnificent Third Growth (Cru Classé) of Margaux is a true standard-bearer for the Bordeaux region, with its distinctive neo-classical palace-like architecture, its park of rare species, and its buildings including the beautiful “Ferme Suzanne”. In 1995, Château Giscours entered a new era in its history following its acquisition by Dutch businessman Éric Albada Jelgersma.
The vineyard
The Château Giscours vineyard spans 95 hectares of producing vines out of 300 hectares in total. A true jewel of the Margaux appellation, the uniqueness of Château Giscours’ terroir lies in the presence of three deep Garonne gravel ridges, which play a decisive role in the grape-ripening cycle.
The wine
Rosé x Giscours comes from a parcel historically dedicated to the production of the Grand Vin, located on deep Garonne gravel soils.
Vinification and aging
Hand-harvesting early in the morning, followed by vinification including direct pressing and low-temperature fermentation in concrete vats. Only the first press juices are selected to ensure freshness and preserve fruity aromas.
