Robert Parker Wine Advocate
The 2012 Palmer is already offering demonstrative drinking at age 10, bursting with aromas of cherries, blackberries, violets and spices, framed by a lavish application of creamy new oak. Full-bodied, ample and enveloping, it's fleshy and sensual, with a deep and layered core of fruit that's discreetly underpinned by succulent acids and sweet, powdery tannins. Concentrated, broad and persistent, this is one of the most successful wines of the vintage, as well as one of the most dramatic. Thomas Duroux is crafting more integrated, less overtly oaky wines at Palmer today, but this 2012 is nonetheless a terrific effort.
James Suckling
This is mind-blowing with complex and superb aromas of dried flowers, blackcurrants and raspberries. Full-bodied, yet polished and velvety with lots of tension and intensity. Layers of fruit and character. Finishes with pure fruit, hazelnuts and minerals. About 20 hectares of 55 hectares were from biodynamically grown grapes.
Jeff Leve, The Wine Cellar Insider
The nose is fruity, fine, gourmand, precise, fresh and offers a certain richness. It reveals notes of blackberry, wild black berries and touches of ripe red fruit associated with slight notes of blueberry, liquorice, toasted oak as well as slight notes of caramelization and a hint of almond. The palate is fruity, fine, fluid, gourmand, suave, deep and offers a very beautiful unctuosity, purity, righteousness, a fine tension, an acid frame (on red fruits), a beautiful finesse and a beautiful matter. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of blackberry, cassis and slight notes of crushed strawberry combined with hints of oak as well as slight notes of cocoa, chocolate, caramelization and slight / discreet hints of grilled almond. Tannins are fine and well-built. Good length and persistence. A (very) beautiful and well-made wine!

Wine Enthusiast
With great depth of fruit, this plush, ripe wine also has dense tannins for aging, layers of acidity and a tight structure. However, it's the fruit that makes this wine, with its waves of black currants and aromatic blueberries. The wood just touches the flavors to promise serious aging. Drink from 2022.
Unprecedented. From December to July, incessant rains provoked the development of mildew. Then, during a hot, dry summer, the vines focused all their energy into the remaining grapes. Their power and concentration finally reached an exceptional level. In the winery, all of this led to an unprecedented decision: every lot would be selected for the blending of Château Palmer… Extraordinary.'
Druvor
53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot and 7% Petit Verdot.

Årgång 2012 i Bordeaux
Vänstra stranden | Médoc & Péssac-Léognan
88 poäng
Sval och blöt tidigt ledde till ojämn skörd och sjukdomar, medan torr, varm augusti resulterade i en del blockerad mognad; Septemberregn hjälpte, men skördeperioden var kort innan oktoberregnen anlände, vilket lämnade några caberneter märkta av strama tanniner; Péssac och Margaux gynnade framför övre Médoc; mer inkonsekvent överlag än högra stranden.
Högra stranden | Pomerol & Saint-Emilion
90 poäng
Tidig mognad Merlot gynnas i allmänhet framför väsntra strandens Cabernet. Lerjordar med god vattenretention höll vinstockar igång under augustitorkan, medan grus lätt rann av de senare regnet. Pomerol mycket fast; St.-Emilion mer inkonsekvent med vissa viner som är benägna att överextraktion.
