VertdeVin
The nose is fruity, elegant, racy, nicely defined and offers harmony as well as a certain power. It reveals notes of creamy blackberry, small black fruits and more slightly pulpy redcurrants associated with violet, pepper, racy saline minerality as well as discreet hints of spice. The palate is fruity, balanced and offers juiciness, elegance, roundness, fat, a nice mineral / delicately acidic frame, roundness, volume, harmony, a certain creaminess precisely, gourmandize as well as fullness. On the palate this wine expresses notes of pulpy / juicy blackberry, creamy raspberry and more slightly fleshy / crushed strawberry associated with crushed plum as well as hints of caramelization, toast, toasted hazelnut, chocolate and with a hint of Bourbon vanilla bean. Tannins are elegant and smooth. Nice persistence on hints of almond and chocolate.
Andreas Larsson - Tasted
Fine oak and butterscotch, ripe red and darker fruit, tobacco, cedar wood, great freshness with the combination of tannin and acidity, warm and unctuous with a long grainy finish.

Unwinding in the glass with aromas of dark berries, orange rind and rich spices, framed by a deft application of cedary new oak, the 2019 La Chapelle de la Mission Haut-Brion is medium to full-bodied, deep and concentrated, with lively acids and a more tightly wound profile than its counterpart across the street.

The second wine from this great estate, the 2019 La Chapelle De La Mission Haut-Brion is based on 50% Merlot, 46% Cabernet Sauvignon, and the balance Cabernet Franc. It might be the second wine of the vintage and has plenty of classic La Mission sexiness and opulence as well as textbook notes of sweet red and black currants, tobacco leaf, exotic spice, acacia flowers, and lead pencil. Full-bodied, round, expansive, and powerful, yet also light on its feet and flawlessly balanced, it's a stunning Pessac in its own right to enjoy over the coming 20 years or so.
Decanter Magazine
Intense but subtle, with high aromatics. Loaded with flavour and sap, extremely juicy, savoury but welcoming. Fruit-forward with a creamy texture, this has the elegance that you want from La Chapelle, the sappy fruit that you want to share, and is a great 2nd stepping stone to La Mission. Last year had less Merlot but it works here, giving charm, elegance and mouthwatering appeal. Harvest finished October 4. 27% of production.
Druvor
42% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36.5% Merlot & 21.5% Cabernet Franc.

La Chapelle de La Mission Haut-Brion develops aromas of tobacco, black fruit and a characteristic smoky hint. Produced in very “confidential” quantities, this red wine is the gateway to the world of Château La Mission Haut-Brion (3,000 to 3,500 cases). The key concept that defines this wine is pleasure, as it bewitches all the senses, even when young. It possesses all the harmony and seductive characteristics of its famous older brother.
