Robert Parker Wine Advocate
The 2020 Les Griffons de Pichon Baron has turned out nicely, offering up aromas of sweet cassis, berries, loamy soil and tobacco leaf. Medium to full-bodied, rich and fleshy, it's pure and more serious than the Tourelles, with a more Cabernet-driven personality (along with all the estate's Petit Verdot this year).
Jeb Dunnuck
More Cabernet Sauvignon-based in most vintages, the 2020 Les Griffons De Pichon Baron is a slight shift and is based on 50% Merlot, 42% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 8% Petit Verdot that spent 18 months in 50% new French oak. More pure cassis, redcurrants, acacia flowers, violets, and graphite flow to a full-bodied, beautifully textured, concentrated 2020 with enough tannins to warrant 4-5 years of bottle age.

Tasting note
'The nose is fine, elegant and offers a slight concentration as well as a slight charming side. It reveals notes of fresh/ripe blackberry, cassis and violet associated with a hint of redcurrant as well as a discreet hint of plum, caramelized oak and a subtle hint of sweet spices. The palate is fruity, fresh, well-balanced, slightly powerful and offers a slight gourmandise, a slight fleshy, an acid frame, straightness, a slight deepness as well as an acid frame and juiciness. In the mouth this wine expresses notes of fresh/fleshy boysenberry, plum and slight notes of fresh raspberry associated with a hint of redcurrant, toasted oak, cacao, a subtle grilled hint as well as a hint of cardamom and Ceylan tea. Tannins are fine, racy and structuring. Good length. Good persistence on a subtle hint of caramelization/vanilla.'
