Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2018 Marquis de Terme comes skipping out of the glass with bright, cheery notes of kirsch, black raspberries and blackcurrant pastilles, followed by hints of aniseed, damp soil and bouquet garni. The medium-bodied palate is delicately styled with just 13% declared alcohol and plenty of youthful, dried herbs accenting red and black fruits, supported by approachable, chewy tannins and bags of freshness, finishing with a lively lift. It's a great example of a fresher style for this vintage.

The nose is fruity, fresh and offers juiciness, intensity and concentration. It reveals notes of juicy/ripe Boysen berry, juicy/ripe cassis and small notes of raspberry, small red berries associated with fine touches of cornflower, fresh violet, black cherry as well as fine hints of liquorice, zan, gray pepper and an imperceptible hint of tea. The palate is fruity, well-balanced and offers a good definition, juiciness, a mineral frame, a good freshness, richness as well as small tension. On the palate this wine expresses notes of juicy/ripe cassis, juicy/ripe cherry and small notes of juicy/ripe red fruits associated with fine touches of liquorice and chocolate. Tannins are elegant and finely firm.

Intense dark purple colour. Pure and floral nose offering violet, cassis, blackberry, sage and mint. Rather ample palate, dense fruit but modest extraction, supple tannin, fresh dark fruit flavours, Kirsch, tobacco and a long velvety finish. Elegant and almost Burgundian texture.
