VertdeVin
The nose is racy, elegant and offers a nice racy minerality/sense of place, a nice grain, some concentration as well as a nice ripeness of the fruit (bordering on over-ripeness). There are notes of boysenberry, blueberry and more slightly black tea combined with delicate touches of black pepper, camphor, fairly ripe red berries as well as a hint of saffron (on the floral side) and a subtle hint of toast/grey pepper in the background. The palate is very discreetly tight and offers a nice freshness, minerality, a fresh frame, a nice definition, power/force and a nice stretch. A wine full of freshness, balance and power “in balance” (without exuberance). On the palate this wine expresses crisp/fresh blue berry, fresh cherry and more slightly crunchy/fresh red berry notes combined with hints of boysenberry, fine blueberry, graphite, chocolate, subtle hints of bergamot and cardamom. Lovely persistence and subtle chewiness on the finish. Nice quality of tannins, mellow, racy. Nice generosity and authenticity of fruit. A fine flowery side on the finish.
Wine Enthusiast
This is a very fine wine with a serious structure that is cushioned by the generous black fruits. It is so balanced, smooth with velvet behind the great tannins. The wine will age for many years. Drink from 2028. Organic and biodynamic

So much sweet tobacco, stone, brambleberry and currant on the nose. The palate is full and compact with very polished tannins, yet they are solid and sturdy and run the length and width of the wine. Energetic acidity. Very structured and powerful, yet agile and impressive. Historic feel. From biodynamically grown grapes. This needs at least six years of bottle age to soften. Try after 2027.

The 2019 Palmer is a rich, dramatic wine that soars from the glass with aromas of cherries, blackberries and berry fruit liqueur mingled with notions of violets, rose petals and sweet spices. Full-bodied, layered and seamless, it's powerful and immensely concentrated, with an enveloping core of lively fruit that largely conceals the wine's ripe, powdery structuring tannins. Concluding with a long, penetrating finish, it's a brilliant rendition of the contemporary Palmer style from Thomas Duroux and his team.
Unprecedented. From December to July, incessant rains provoked the development of mildew. Then, during a hot, dry summer, the vines focused all their energy into the remaining grapes. Their power and concentration finally reached an exceptional level. In the winery, all of this led to an unprecedented decision: every lot would be selected for the blending of Château Palmer… Extraordinary.'
Druvor
